Minrong Zhang, Mandarin Teacher

    Minrong joined CISS in September 2017 as Mandarin Teacher. She graduated from Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) with a degree in Foreign Language Studies (Major: English; Minor: International Tourism Management; Second Language: Portuguese). She was awarded Mainland China Student Scholarship by MUST Foundation during her time at university.

    In addition to her academic training at school, Minrong has acquired practical experience in public relations through many extracurricular activities including the Students’ Union, volunteer activities and part-time jobs. For instance, she was a private Mandarin tutor of pupils from Macau International School for 2 years; During Intel Solutions Summit 2017, she worked as Event Staff; She was a group member of the major project “Global Archives on Macau” of the institute for social and culture research of MUST; Apart from that, she was also a volunteer at the 5th Ministerial Conference of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries in 2016.

    Minrong realises how lucky she is to have such an opportunity to work in Scotland. She will put all her efforts into it and believes that the accumulated experiences will have a profound effect on her.
