Challenge 1: Sacred object

Learners will listen to the creation myth podcast and discuss the key objects that feature in the story and why these are important. This challenge will encourage learners to match English translations to the French words.

Challenge 2: Celtic knot

Celtic knots are a feature of Celtic culture. Learners will be able to research and discuss the meaning and symbolism behind these designs.

Challenge 3: French glossary

Learners can work in pairs to learn words from the glossary provided.

Challenge 4: Translation

A skills based approach to developing learners' competence in reading French text.

Challenge 5: Reading

Learners work in groups to work out the meaning of a section of the text using their previous knowledge, reading skills, glossary and bilingual dictionary.

Challenge 6: Storyboard

Learners work together in groups to produce a storyboard to demonstrate their understanding of the six most important points of the creation myth.
