SCILT is the national centre for languages, supporting a wealth of language learning and diversity across Scotland’s communities.

Alice Lister, Projects Assistant

Alice joined SCILT in August 2013 as Administrative Assistant, and became Projects Assistant in 2018. She graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a degree in English Language and Literature, including one year of French language studies. Alice's previous experience is primarily in the private sector, where she worked in multilingual recruitment and translation management. 

At SCILT Alice provides support to the professional development team on a range of projects, including Language Linking Global Thinking and German Educational Trainees. Alice is part of the CLPL team, supporting the Professional Development Officers in their delivery of professional learning workshops across the country. She also assists the Information Team in the dissemination of language related news and events via the SCILT website and social media channels. 

Alice has tutored English to National 5 and Higher pupils and teaches weekly swing dancing classes. She has recently started learning Mandarin and Spanish.
