I'm John. This year I am studying French, Italian, and English at Advanced Higher, and Spanish at Higher. I love studying languages and helping out with the younger students, so when I leave school I want to study French and Italian at university. I also study Latin in my own time, as I love to see where words, both in English and other languages, have come from!

Where does your interest in languages come from?

Over my time at school I have been lucky enough to be taught by some of the most passionate teachers that I have ever come across. However, I have always had a deep interest in language, whether I realised or not, and studying at a higher level has allowed my interest and skills to flourish, showing me that I would like to work with languages for my whole life.

What do you hope to gain from the internship?

I have already had the chance to make friends with the other amazing interns, but I hope that I will also be able to develop existing skills and to learn new ones, increasing my employability and enhancing my CV as I look towards leaving school. However, most importantly, I want to have fun while sharing my love of languages with other young people!
