I'm Josie. This year I'm in S6 and studying advanced French and Spanish as well as History and Music. After secondary school I'd love to travel for a few months or a year to put my Spanish and French to use and to try and learn some new languages along the way! I also plan on continuing to study languages later on by going to university for either Spanish or French paired with History.

Where does your interest in languages come from?

I first became interested in languages when I was very young and on holiday in the south of Spain where I found it super annoying that I couldn't understand what people around me were saying. So after our holiday I immediately asked my parents if I could start learning Spanish and they of course said yes. Since then I also started to learn French as well as trying to learn languages such as Gaelic, Swedish and even Korean on Duolingo!

What do you hope to gain from the internship?

I hope to get a better knowledge of how to use social media platforms that I wouldn't usually go near, and to improve the skills I already have on my every day social media platforms. As well as this I'm looking forward to working with like-minded people so that we can hopefully get even more people our age interested in learning a new language!
