My name is Katie, I’m a 6th year student studying advanced higher French/ Business - subjects which I’m very enthusiastic about. I would love to study international business and French at university, as it opens doors to a wide range of opportunities, and equips you with the skills to succeed in a globalised economy, where businesses operate across cultures, within an increasingly connected world.

Where does your interest in languages come from?

My interest in languages stems from an appreciation for languages, which can connect cultures from around the world. I find the intricacies of different languages fascinating - whether it's trying to understand grammar, exploring idiomatic expressions, or simply appreciating the beauty of words, my enthusiasm for languages continues to develop. I’m also passionate about travelling, and plan to work across Europe, immersing myself in diverse cultures, further motivating my interest in languages.

What do you hope to gain from the internship?

I am keen to gain valuable experience and skills that will help me throughout my career, whilst working in a creative and collaborative environment. I am extremely enthusiastic about languages and business, so this opportunity will allow me to pursue both of my passions. I’m also excited to learn more about different languages and new cultures, and work with other enthusiastic and like-minded young people.
