Aileen joined SCILT at the start of 2024 after previously working in Communications and Events at the Centre for Excellence for Children’s Care and Protection (also based at Strathclyde), and her events experience through work and volunteering ranges from conferences to ceilidhs.
She is bilingual and grew up in Germany and Scotland in a language-loving family (her parents worked teaching English to children and businesspeople and as a translator respectively), so she has always enjoyed comparing words and their origins in different languages and getting the chance to meet people from other countries and trying to pick up some of the local language while travelling.
Aileen has a degree in Marketing and some of her other roles include helping Strathclyde alumni to stay connected and testing the translations of video games, as well as working for a marketing agency.
