Hi I'm Emma. This year I am studying Advanced Higher Modern Studies and English as well as Higher Politics and PE. After school I hope to study International relations with Spanish. After that I’m unsure of my plan but hopefully I can get the chance to work abroad which would help with my languages also. Outside of school I play football and watch lots of movies.

Where does your interest in languages come from?

I’m half Mexican and my first language was Spanish so I’m passionate about appreciation for languages and linguists in society. I think language learning is a huge attribute for everyone and an opportunity that I wish more people took advantage of. Languages also ties into my interest of international studies.

What do you hope to gain from the internship?

I hope to encourage other young people to look into languages and just to share information to hopefully make languages more accessible for students. I’m also excited to start working with the group of interns and learn what they love about languages.
