Visitando Marruecos

¡Feliz Año Nuevo a todos, I hope everyone had a nice break at Christmas! As I told you in my previous blog, my friends and I were going to travel to Morocco a few weeks before the school holidays. It was a lot of travelling time, pero valió la pena. Over five days we visited six cities and traveled 1705 km!

The best day was definitely when we went to stay in the Sahara Desert for the evening! We travelled for two hours on camels’ backs until we reached our small campsite.

Fair to say it wasn't the comfiest two hours, but it was amazing! On the way, we stopped off to climb a sand dune (que fue muy difícil y agotador!) and watch the sunset in the distance.

When we arrived at the camp, we all gathered around the campfire, drinking traditional Moroccan tea and listened to the Berber music playing as people danced around to the sound of the tambours.

We woke up early the next morning to watch the sunrise before getting back on our camels and heading back to the hotel. Here is a wee picture of me leading my new friends through the desert!

I only arrived back to Spain last week. It was nice to see my family for Christmas (and have some Irn-Bru!), but I am glad to be back out here in Jaén!

What I am loving most about living and working abroad, is that I have so much free time to travel with my new friends. Hay tantos lugares para visitar and new cultures to experience! I still have six months in Spain and many more adventures to come, but I would definitely recommend you all to take any opportunity you can to travel and see new places! Speaking the language is also a massive help, ¡así que sigue aprendiendo!

¡Adiós por ahora!
