Languages Week Scotland 2027

News Date: 23 October 2026
News Source: Languages Week Scotland

Join us from 1–5 February 2027 for Languages Week Scotland, a celebration of language learning and multilingualism across Scotland.

This year’s theme, Voices without borders: Every language tells a story, celebrates the languages that connect us, shape our identities and open windows onto different lives and experiences.

Our languages help us share our stories, discover what we have in common and appreciate what makes us different. By listening to different voices and exploring different languages, we can see the world from new perspectives and think beyond the borders of our own experiences.

Everyone is invited to get involved. Whether you’re part of a school, college or university, a community group, arts or sports organisation, social enterprise or business, there are many ways to take part.

Look out for events and activities taking place across Scotland and join us in celebrating our many languages and voices!

Visit the website and follow the hashtag #ScotlandLovesLanguages on social media to find out what's happening and to join in! Follow Languages Week Scotland on Instagram and LinkedIn.

SCILT has been tasked by the Scottish Government to deliver Languages Week Scotland. SCILT is Scotland’s National Centre for Languages, based at the University of Strathclyde.
