As educators, we feel comfortable in identifying and unpacking standards as a means to create and share content learning targets with the students we serve. However, we may not realize the equally important role of planning for language learning targets so that students are able to access grade level standards regardless of language proficiency. Webinar participants will engage with recommendations regarding the importance of overtly planning for listening, speaking, reading, writing, and metalinguistic awareness, as a means to give students full ownership of the learning process.
