Our World 2024-25 ran from September to June in schools across the country.
In term 1, learners worked in groups to create storyboards, outlining their idea for their short film. Nearly 40 storyboards were submitted, with films covering a wide range of Sustainable Development Goals, languages, and filmmaking techniques.
Fourteen entries were shortlisted to attend filmmaking workshops in March 2025. Learners worked with professional filmmaker Radim Letovsky to bring their storyboards to life, using their newly learned skills, and incorporating costumes, props and green screens.
The completed films were then submitted to our judging panel, who had a tough job choosing the winners. The competition concluded with a glitzy award ceremony in June 2025 at the University of Strathclyde. Learners enjoyed seeing their films on the big screen, posing for pictures in the awards photobooth, and tucking into popcorn.
Winners were announced across three age categories – S1-2, S3-4 and S5-6 – with awards for Best Content, Best Film Production and Most Creative use of Language in each category. Attendees also had the chance to vote for their favourite film in the Peer Choice Award.
