Calum Gibb, Communications and Projects Coordinator (Mat leave cover)

Calum joined SCILT in September 2021 as a Communications and Projects Coordinator at the Confucius Institute for Scotland’s Schools. He graduated with a degree in Modern and Classical Chinese from the University of London’s School of Oriental African and Middle Eastern Studies and is a fluent speaker of Mandarin Chinese. Since first visiting in 2007, he has spent half a decade exploring, studying, and working in China, based in Beijing, Haikou and Shanghai.

Having been involved in a range of business, culture and education focused projects whilst engaged at the University of Edinburgh’s own Confucius Institute Calum is keen to continue contributing to greater Sino-Scottish engagement and to encouraging more young people to develop their China literacy.
