Following the recent terrorist attacks in France, we in the French subject area at the University of Strathclyde have organised a special online discussion on the theme of ‘Terrorism, the French Republic and Laïcité’ on Wednesday 2 December, 4-5pm.

To help you gain a greater understanding of the issues surrounding French identity, citizenship and republican values, we have invited two of the country’s foremost experts, Dr Emile Chabal and Professor Nadia Kiwan, to give their views and to answer your questions.

The event is open to all students of French, whether at university or in secondary, but would be especially relevant to senior phase students interested in themes that they will study in greater depth if going to university.
