The School of Modern Languages and Cultures at the University of Glasgow is pleased to invite Senior Phase pupils to our Taster Sessions on Monday 4 September 2023.

This event will take place between 9:45 am and 3.00 pm at:

School of modern Languages and Cultures

Hetherington Building, Glasgow, G12 8RS

(rooms to be confirmed)

These 30-minute sessions will give pupils an opportunity to taste interactive Language lessons as well as Culture, Comparative Literature and English for Academic Studies seminars.

Lecturers delivering the sessions will be very happy to answer questions (regarding the content of the sessions) as well as to advise on what it is like to study languages, culture and literature at the University of Glasgow.

In addition, some of our current students will be on hand to chat to attendees on the day and share their own University study experience.

This invitation is open to all Senior Phase pupils not only to those who are currently studying languages in school.

Studying a language at Beginners Level (no prior knowledge is required) is an option available to all first-year students in Glasgow University.

Students who choose to study a language can, if they wish, continue studying this in their year 2 and from there progress to a degree including that language.

SMLC will reimburse pupils from MD20 and MD40 catchment areas for their travel expenses to attend this event, so please do keep your tickets 😊

Refreshments and lunch will be provided free of charge on the day.
