Event Date: 20/03/2014
Ever thought of offering Japanese at your school? Head Start offers head teachers, curriculum planners and heads of MFL the opportunity to get to grips with issues specific to the teaching of Japanese at school level.
We will focus on resources, accreditation, and support (including funding) available from various organisations, for UK schools teaching Japanese. The workshop will look at cases of schools that have successfully introduced Japanese (this year we have speakers from Dartford Grammar School and Great Malvern Primary school).
In addition, you will have the chance to explore the resources in our specialist library and take part in a Japanese language taster – no previous knowledge of Japanese is required!
Feedback from previous participants:
"I would not have dared tackle Japanese without this course. It has given me the confidence to organise a scheme of work and encourage other local schools to do the same."
"A great, motivating day, with plenty of new ideas and energy."
"An excellent introduction to Japanese. Informative and inspiring."
