This conference has been initiated by the Spanish Embassy Education Office, the Institut Français and the Goethe Institut. It centres around the CEFR, the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The idea behind it is to make the CEFR more accessible to Scottish language teachers and to show the relevance, advantages and also applications possible in the classroom teaching.
Presentations by international experts in the morning will introduce the CEFR and its aspects of language competencies and show current research in language education. In the afternoon there will be practical workshops for German, French and Spanish to demonstrate how doable, enabling and encouraging CEFR-based language learning can be. The conference language is English.
