NQ Modern Languages for Life and Work Award – Launch Event

SQA are hosting a launch event to present the new Modern Languages for Life and Work Award at SCQF levels 3&4. The Award, available as of session 2012/13, comprises two existing SQA Units, (Modern Languages) for Work Purposes and Building Own Employability Skills, and one new Unit, (Modern Languages) for Life, and aims to develop learners' language and employability skills in practical and relevant contexts. Learners may achieve the Award by using one or two of the following modern languages: Cantonese, French, Gaelic (Learners), German, Italian, Mandarin, Polish, Russian, Spanish and Urdu. The event will include presentations and a workshop session, and will provide the opportunity for delegates to become familiar with the new Assessment Support for the Award, due to be published in June 2013.

Target Audience: staff responsible for the delivery of NQ Modern Languages
