Visit website

Event Date: 17/06/2017 12:00 - 16:00

At this free event, presented by The MRC Centre for Cognitive Ageing and Cognitive Epidemiology (CCACE) from the University of Edinburgh in association with Leith Labs, you can find out how to 'stay sharp' in older age directly from the researchers working on this topic.

Each hour will begin with a short presentation from the researcher, followed by a time to ask questions and have an informal discussion over tea/coffee and biscuits.
  • 12noon - Alan Gow: The Ageing Lab - Can taking up new activities improve the health and wellbeing of older adults?
  • 1pm - Michelle Luciano – Can diet affect your brain health?
  • 2pm – Stuart Ritchie - The ageing brain
  • 3pm - Thomas Bak - Can speaking multiple languages keep you sharp?
In addition to the talks, there will also be a few hands-on activities about the brain and how it changes with age, which can be accessed throughout the afternoon. Further drop-in activities for all the family will be located on the ground floor of ocean terminal.
