To mark the conclusion of the third and final phase of our Erasmus+ project with partners in Denmark and Norway, SCILT, Scotland's National Centre for Languages, is hosting an event over two afternoons, aimed at young people and their parents and carers, to promote the relevance and value of languages and intercultural skills across a range of academic and professional fields.
- Wednesday 1 December, 13:30-15:00 - The first session is aimed at secondary learners from S2 upwards. Attendees will hear from a panel of young Scots currently in their early careers. Each will share first-hand experiences of how the knowledge of another language has set them apart from colleagues in their field, and equipped them with valuable skills for their current roles. Teachers should register classes and show the event in school.
- Thursday 2 December, 16:00-17:30 - The second session is for parents, carers and teachers. Participants will hear from professionals highlighting the importance of language skills for the workforce of the future and will be introduced to a new toolkit to help young people identify courses and career pathways involving languages.
Visit the website to find out more and to register for the free sessions.
These sessions will be recorded and made available at a later date on the SCILT website.
