The UNESCO RILA (Refugee Integration Through Languages and the Arts) Spring School at the University of Glasgow will incorporate language tasters, discussions, workshops, presentations and performances on the theme of words and integration through languages and arts, with the following sub-topics:
- Intercultural capabilities, cultural expressions and linguistic diversity
- Language hierarchies, discourse, meaning making and meaning changing
- Language learning, language loss and language revival
- Silence, words of comfort and finding words
- Intercultural communication through the arts
The event is split:
- 14-17 May - Language taster sessions
- 20-23 May - Main conference
