Let the SLLP Alums Networking commence!

30 August 2024 (SCILT)

The SLLP Alums Network was launched in February to mark the 10th anniversary year of Scotland’s Languages Leadership Programme (SLLP), in all its varied iterations. The programme of network meetings for 2024-25 begins in September and if you haven’t already done so, there is no better time for SLLP alums to join this online community.

Like Dr Who, the SLLP has regenerated several times over the years. Hosted throughout by partners Education Scotland and SCILT, the central aim has always been to build leadership capacity in languages education nationwide. You can be a member of the network if you have completed SLLP (or TTT or LLP) between 2014 - 2024, regardless of whether you gained GTCS Professional Recognition with us and even if you are now in a different job. Whatever the situation, all previous participants are welcome to join the SLLP Alums Network. It is the ideal opportunity to (re)connect with friends, colleagues and peers just like you who champion languages education in primary, secondary and special education settings across Scotland.

Join the network and we’ll add you to the network Team in Glow and you will be able to join us online at 16.00-17.30 on Thursday 19 September 2024 for the first network meeting of the year.

At this meeting we will hear from Ann Robertson, independent languages consultant, lead author of the TILES self-evaluation resource, former development officer for languages in several local authorities in Scotland and former Chair of the LANGS.

Drawing on her own varied leadership experiences, Ann will invite us to reflect on:

  • What inspires us as leaders of languages education

  • What good leadership is and how it manifests with the people we work with

  • Our aims as leaders in the long, medium and short term. How we measure our progress and evaluate our practice

  • Who and what can help us to progress

Join the SLLP Alums Network here via the Eventbrite link below, Glow login required.
