Join us at Vive le fringe!

Come to discover the insight of working for the World’s Greatest Arts Festival, see our “Vive le Fringe!” shows for free and be surrounded by creative and artistic minds!

Our volunteer missions involve supporting our communication team (flyers distribution, social media), our box office team (welcoming the public, checking tickets, be aware of our safety guidelines) and our cultural team (liaising with artists).

Want to know more? Send us an email at vivelefringe.ifecosse@gmail.com with the subject line “FRINGE VOLUNTEER” indicating your availability in August, some details about yourself and a few sentences about why you would like to volunteer with us. Applications are open for those aged 16 and up until Sunday 30 June 2024 at midnight. If you are aged between 16 and 17 you will need a parent or guardian’s permission.

Languages beyond school

Are you a student, or do you know a student, considering pursuing language studies beyond secondary education? Check out the Beyond School section of the SCILT website. The site lists university and college language courses here in Scotland, links to UCAS and university guides UK-wide, and help and advice on study abroad options and volunteering overseas.

It's a useful resource for teachers and Careers Guidance staff to highlight to students as the UCAS application process is now underway.

Youth volunteering opportunity in Portugal

Would you like to gain valuable skills, have new experiences, and support vulnerable people?

We are offering 2 young people aged 18-30 the opportunity to volunteer for up to 6 months with the Portuguese Red Cross in Braga, Portugal. The estimated dates for the programme are 1 August 2022 – 31 January 2023.

The volunteers will be working in a range of projects, which will give them the chance to explore the different kind of social action that the Portuguese Red Cross undertake in Braga. This is a great opportunity to get involved in these projects and find out what you are interested in. Portuguese language skills are not required for this placement.
